We are home!!!

Thanks so much for your prayers. We got home tonight and will probably be traveling back sometime this week to finish up testing and to remove Casons PICC line. The doctors think that there is some scarring around Casons kidney which may lead to his hydration troubles. They have advised us to try a low sodium diet with Cason and continue with the large amount of fluids.

Its so great to be home and to hopefully stay in our routine for a while. We ask for continued prayers for Cason and protection for his special kidney. Thanks so much!

update 1/22/11

We had bit of a frustrating day today. Biopsy results from yesterday showed some scar tissue on his kidney, but nothing of too much concern. Some of his other blood numbers have been off a little, but the primary issue remains difficulty keeping Cason fully hydrated. He drinks way more than most kids during the day but he still gets dehydrated very easily, which ends up impairing his kidney function. Doctors haven't been able to give us a solid reason for this. The weekend Nephrologist came in this morning and basically told us that they didn't know what was going on but that he was going to send Cason home today anyway. We let him know that we weren't happy with this and that we didn't want to leave without some answers. So...the doctor decided to give him a hormone that decreases his urine output in the hopes that it helps him retain more fluid. We are also going to try a low sodium diet and Cason will likely need a feeding tube again.

Please pray for clear answers and for God to protect Cason's transplanted kidney. We also know that the Lord is able to completely heal him at any time and continue to pray for this, as well.

Happy 5th Birthday Jackson!!!

Our sweet little boy is now 5 years old! Wow! We are so thankful that the Lord has given us Jackson to love and care for. He is such a energetic, caring, athletic , and intelligent little boy. We continue to pray for him as we trust
that the Lord has big plans for his life!

Happy Kidney Day - 2 years!

Today is a very special day in our family as we celebrate the second anniversary of Cason's kidney transplant. Again we take a minute to praise God for this miracle and
thank Nona for her selfless gift.

May the God of hope grant you all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may be overcome with hope by the power of the holy Spirit. Romans 15:13
