Update on Cason

Hey Everyone!
We had Cason's clinic appointment today at Egleston and it went ok. His kidney seems to be functioning great, but there are several red flags concerning his failure to grow appropriately in height and weight. We spoke with the doctors and nutritionist and we all decided that Cason needs to return to more frequent tube feedings with special high calorie formula. We looked back at Casons growth chart and he has not gained any weight in the past six months and over the last year he has gained only four pounds. This was very eye opening and we are all eager to start this new plan. Also, the doctors recommended that we take Cason to the Marcus Institute for their Pediatric Feeding Program. The doctors sent the referral in today so hopefully soon we can be a part of this feeding clinic. The Marcus Institute offers several different programs and after the therapists and doctors evaluate Cason then we will know what level program he will need.

Please pray for Cason to gain a desire to eat. Also, pray for these additional feedings to pack on some healthy pounds. Pray for BG and me to be patient and to not get frustrated with Cason during meal times. Eating comes so naturally to us that it is hard to understand his lack of desire. He really doesn't know what he is missing!

Otherwise, everything is going great! Jackson and Cason are both loving Preschool and enjoying looking through all of the Christmas magazines making their wish lists for Santa. Jackson just wrapped up his soccer season, finishing strong with two goals in his last game. Go Suns! We really appreciate your prayers so much and will keep you updated on how things are going.

Thanks so much!!!
Tricia

It's hard to get most any toddler to eat much of anything, much less one who has other feeding issues like Cason! They are just too busy to eat! Praying for a big appetite and patience! Mandy

Our family is always praying for Cason, we feel for you. We'd love to see our feeding tube fly away and never return. Glad to hear he is doing well otherwise. Looks like we are up for transplant in January or February at the current rate, yea! Wishing your family a safe and happy holiday season, God bless - The Reymores
