Ouch!

Here are some pictures of my knee two days after surgery. As you can see the surgeon cut on me a little more than I expected. He had to make an incision to remove a bursa sac that was really inflamed and then he made cuts in my IT band to help it stretch. I was sent home in an immobilizer brace that covers my entire leg and I am walking with crutches. I will go to the doctor Wednesday and hopefully he will let me do a little more and get rid of the brace.

BG has been Mr. Mom and is really doing an amazing job. It is driving me crazy to not being able to do anything. Thanks for your prayers. Continue to pray for Cason and Beverly as we are really excitied about transplant. She goes December 8th & 9th to Emory for her last test to conclude that she will be the donor. Thanks so much for always listening.

There is always something to be thankful for.

Thanks so much for everyone's prayers. Surgery went well today. The surgeon ended up scoping my knee and then removing a bursa through an incision he made through my IT band. I will be in a straight leg immobilizer and on crutches for at least a week. I am feeling really good right now so hopefully that will continue.

I am thankful that we have a four day weekend coming up. BG will be off of work and he will be a great help as I recover. Also, we are so thankful for our friends and family. My dad came down and played with the boys today and my friend Angela had Cason for us tonight, while Jackson is visiting with Nona and Papa. We are so blessed to have such good help.

Tomorrow we are looking forward to hanging out with family. As we think of what has been going on in our lives this past year we know that the good can definitely outweigh the bad. God has been so good to us. The trials that we have faced and continue to go through have been challenging, but overall have brought us closer to the Lord and each other.

Hope that everyone has a great Thanksgiving and once again we appreciate your prayers and friendship.

Update

Just a quick note to let you all know that Tricia is scheduled to have
arthroscopic knee surgery tomorrow afternoon to clean out some torn
cartilage and remove a bursa sac. It should be a relatively
straightforward surgery, so please pray that it goes smoothly and that
she is up and moving comfortably before transplant rolls around.

We just found out that Mom has passed the next round of donor tests
and will move on to the two day series of tests at Emory, so praise
the Lord for that! She will hopefully find out the testing schedule
today; we are hoping that it can happen next week. Thanks for praying!

Hope that everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving.

COTA for Cason

Hey.

Hope that everyone is doing great. Well, here is some information regarding Casons COTA campaign. We are still trying to reach our goal of $45, 000. Some of the other patient accounts under COTA have been using this new tool to help raise funds for his transplant.

This is a new and interesting way to raise money for Cason's COTA campaign. It's a site called goodsearch.com and it's a search engine powered by Yahoo. After you type COTA in the charity box, then choose Cason's campaign, every time that you search the internet a penny goes into his account. There is also a sister site called goodshop.com where lots of popular stores (Macy's, Walmart, Target, BestBuy, EBay, .... lots of them) will donate a percentage of your purchase to Cason's COTA campaign. Please consider using these sites and forwarding this info to your family and friends. It's an easy way to donate to a great cause!

We love you guys! Talk to you soon!

Savannah Weekend

Here are some pictures from this past weekend. We went to Savannah for a wedding and got to enjoy the beach, some fun Savannah parks and a lot of candy from the River Street sweet shop. The boys really had a lot of fun and both of them are feeling great. We go to Egleston tomorrow to do some of Casons blood work for transplant. Also, Beverly should be hearing from Emory this week regarding her role in transplant. We will keep you posted. We are all so ready, but feeling anxious and excited. I got a Cortisone shot in my knee last week and will meet with the doctor next Tuesday to discuss futher treatment. Thanks for keeping us all in your prayers. Enjoy the pictures.

A local photographer, John Yarbrough, was nice enough to take some pictures of our family before transplant. Enjoy!
